Hawaii Police salutes its fallen officers with honorary ceremony

Hawaii Police Department Names of the eight and photos of six of the eight officers honored Monday who lost their lives in the line of duty during Hawaii Police Department's Police Week ceremony in Hilo.

JOHN BURNETT/Tribune-Herald The Hawaii Police Department's Memorial Wall of officers who gave their lives in the line of duty, on Monday, received another name, Officer Michol Octobre, who was shot to death by a serial killed on Dec. 13, 1916.

About four dozen civilians and a contingent of uniformed Hawaii Police Department officers attended HPD’s Police Week ceremony Monday at the Hilo Police Station.
