County residents can receive free financial advice through a new financial navigator service intended to help those unsure of their finances during the COVID-19 pandemic.
County residents can receive free financial advice through a new financial navigator service intended to help those unsure of their finances during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Financial Navigator program, which began Monday, allows residents to discuss via telephone their financial concerns with a navigator who can provide guidance and referrals to helpful social services and resources.
The program is a partnership with national nonprofit Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund and Hawaii First Federal Credit Union.
“Helping residents who are facing financial challenges due to COVID-19 is a critical part of the county’s front-line response and recovery efforts,” said Mayor Harry Kim in a statement.
