Dr. Melanie Kalei Arnold Ahokovi, 44, of Honolulu died Dec. 22 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo and raised in Pahala, she was a psychologist at Waianae Comprehensive Health Center, 1992 graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama, 1996 graduate of Utah State University, and 1992 inductee into the Nissan Hall of Honor for athletic excellence, especially basketball and volleyball. Visitation 10 a.m.-noon Monday, Jan. 21, at Elks Club in Waikiki. Service at noon. Celebration of life to follow until 3 p.m. Casual attire; lei welcome; teal attire requested. Survived by husband, John Ahokovi; children, Ayden, Ava and Averi; sisters Michelle “Nana” Arnold, Aileenmarie “Boo” Arnold and Melodyann Kanoe Arnold of Honolulu; parents, Larry and Cathy Arnold of Keaau, Hawaii; in-laws Berta Jane (Kenneth) Younce of Hilo, Kalae (Cherisse) Keala of Keaau, and Kiki (Chasity) Keala of Oahu; nieces and nephews.
