A 53-year-old San Francisco man was taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital in critical condition after falling off his mountain bike on Mana Road near Waimea.
A 53-year-old San Francisco man was taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital in critical condition after falling off his mountain bike on Mana Road near Waimea.
According to a written Fire Department statement, the man was biking with his spouse at about noon Thursday when he lost control and fell on unpaved roadway in an area frequently used by joggers and cyclists.
The man was wearing a safety helmet, but was unconscious with a head injury when found by responders.
The scene was turned over to police for further investigation.
