Gabriel Salboro Gomera, 79, of Hilo died April 19 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. The Rev. Alapaki Kim, 71, of Keaau, formerly of Nanakuli, Oahu, died May 8 at home. Born in Battle Creek, Mich., he was retired as pastor of St. Rita Parish in Nanakuli and an ali‘i in the Royal Order of Kamehameha I. Alan Ray Parker, 75, of Hilo died May 29 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired executive director of the county Office of Aging and received the Excellence in Action Award in 2010 from the U.S. Administration on Aging, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Veterans Administration. He also was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hawaii County Radio Control Club, board member of Hawaii Island Adult Care, instructor for the Waiakea High School rifle team and musician in the group Pure &Simple.
