Agnes Leilani Chow, 86, of Kaueleau, Puna, died May 3 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Kaueleau, she was a retired Hawaiian studies teacher for Pahoa Elementary School, genealogist and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Keaukaha Ward and member of Alu Like Ke Ola Pono No Na Kupuna Program in Keaukaha. Visitation 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hilo Stake Center, 1373 Kilauea Ave. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Modest attire. John Charles Phillips, 67, of Captain Cook died March 20 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Oregon, he was a business partner of Atlas appliance repair and sales.
