College roundup: LSU comes from down 16 to stun No. 11 South Carolina
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Jordan Wright had 14 points including two free throws with five seconds left as LSU erased a 16-point second half deficit to beat No. 11 South Carolina 64-63 on Saturday.
The Tigers (13-12, 5-7 Southeastern Conference) trailed 41-25 after Zachary Davis’ 3 pointer with 16:58 to play. That’s when LSU found its offensive flow.

South Carolina (21-5, 9-4) had a final chance, but Jacobi Wright’s 3-pointer from the left corner bounced off the rim.
Tyrell Ward led the Tigers with 16 points. Point guard Trae Hannibal, who played two seasons at South Carolina, had a game-high 12 rebounds.
B.J. Mack had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead South Carolina, which has lost two in a row for the first time this season.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Donovan Clingan had 17 points and 10 rebounds to help UConn rout Marquette and take control of the race for the Big East regular season title.
Tristen Newton added 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Huskies (24-2, 14-1), who have won 14 straight games. Cam Spencer and Hassan Diarra each added 14 points.
Kam Jones scored 15 points and Oso Ighodaro had 14 for Marquette (19-6, 10-4), which came into the game with an eight-game winning streak.
The Huskies lead the second-place Golden Eagles in the Big East by three games in the loss column with five to play.

HOUSTON (AP) — L.J. Cryer scored a season-high 26 points, Jamal Shead had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Houston beat Texas for the Cougars’ third straight win.
Cryer and Shead combined to score 23 first half points on 8-of-15 shooting as Houston (22-3, 9-3 Big 12) built a 40-27 halftime lead.
Dylan Disu had 16 points and seven rebounds and Chendall Weaver added 11 points for Texas (16-9, 5-7).
Houston, which has won 19 straight home games, remains tied atop the Big 12 with No. 10 Iowa State with six regular season games remaining. The Cougars and Cyclones play on Monday night.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Jaden Bradley scored 21 points, Oumar Ballo dominated inside and Arizona overpowered Arizona State in the rivals’ final Pac-12 game at McKale Center.
The Wildcats (20-5, 11-3 Pac-12) had their free-flowing offense clicking all night and tightened up their defense late in the first half to turn the rivalry game into a blowout before the teams head to the Big 12 next season.
Ballo finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Adam Miller had 16 points to lead the Sun Devils, who shot 6 of 24 from 3-point range.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Hunter Dickinson had 20 points and 16 rebounds, and Kansas rallied to beat Oklahoma.
Johnny Furphy had 15 points, nine rebounds and three steals for the Jayhawks (20-6, 8-5 Big 12). Kevin McCullar, the leading scorer in the Big 12, returned after missing two games with a knee injury, including a 79-50 loss to Texas Tech. He finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Jalon Moore had 17 points and Javian McCollum added 15 for the Sooners (18-8, 6-7).
Kansas trailed for much of the game but took a 49-46 lead on a 3-pointer by McCullar with about nine minutes remaining.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Armando Bacot had 25 points and 12 rebounds and North Carolina led most of the way in a victory against Virginia Tech.
RJ Davis added 20 points, Cormac Ryan scored 16 and Harrison Ingram had 12 points and 17 rebounds for the Tar Heels (20-6, 12-3 Atlantic Coast Conference).
MJ Collins had 18 points and reserve Mylyjael Poteat scored 15 to lead Virginia Tech (14-11, 6-8), which lost for the fourth time in five games. Tyler Nickel had 14 points against his former team and Lynn Kidd and Hunter Cattoor added 11 points apiece.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Dalton Knecht and Zakai Zeigler scored 14 points apiece to lead Tennessee to a rout over Vanderbilt.
Josiah-Jordan James had 13 points, Santiago Vescovi scored 12 and Jonas Aidoo added 11 points and eight rebounds as the Volunteers (19-6, 9-3 Southeastern Conference) beat the Commodores (7-18, 2-10) for the 13th time in their last 14 meetings.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Jared McCain set a Duke freshman record with eight 3-pointers and matched a school freshman mark with 35 points as the Blue Devils beat Florida State.
McCain hit seven 3-pointers in the first half and shot 60% overall (12 for 20), including 8 for 11 from long distance in his seventh game scoring 20 or more points. His point total tied Zion Williamson’s 35-point performance against Syracuse in 2019.
Jeremy Roach scored 15 points as Duke (20-5, 11-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) won its fourth straight game.
Jamir Watkins scored 15 points, his 11th straight game in double figures for Florida State (13-12, 7-7).

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Keshon Gilbert had 24 points and eight rebounds to lead Iowa State past Texas Tech .
Curtis Jones contributed 12 points for Iowa State (20-5, 9-3 Big 12), which has won all 15 of its home games this season. Tamin Lipsey and Milan Momcilovic each added 10 points.
Joe Toussaint led the Red Raiders (18-7, 7-5) with 16 points.
Iowa State took control early. Robert Jones scored eight straight points for the Cyclones as they jumped to an 18-10 lead. Jones added a 3-pointer to make it 24-10.

Jayden Nunn added 20 points, RayJ Dennis had 18 points and eight assist and Yves Missi scored 13 for Baylor (19-6, 8-4 Big 12), which has won five of its last six.
Nunn finished with five 3-pointers and Walter made four.
RaeQuan Battle scored 25 points and Jesse Edwards had 21 points and nine rebounds for West Virginia (8-17, 3-9).

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Antonio Reeves scored 22 points and Kentucky led throughout to beat cold-shooting Auburn 70-59, ending the Tigers’ 16-game home winning streak.
The Wildcats (18-7, 8-4 Southeastern Conference) held Auburn to 30.9% shooting.
Johni Broome and Chad Baker-Mazara scored 14 each for Auburn.
Adou Thiero, who started with Tre Mitchell out with a left shoulder injury, had 14 points and eight rebounds for Kentucky.
The Tigers (20-6, 9-4), who had been second in the conference behind No. 15 Alabama, lost their second-leading scorer, Jaylin Williams, to an apparent right knee injury midway through the second half.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Terrence Shannon Jr. scored 27 points and Illinois beat Maryland to earn its first road victory against the Terrapins since 2011.
Jahmir Young had 28 points to lead Maryland, which was 10-3 against the Illini since entering the Big Ten in 2014-15.
Marcus Domask had 19 points for the Illini (19-6, 10-4 Big Ten), putting him over 2,000 points for his career, including four seasons at Southern Illinois.
Maryland (14-12, 6-9) wore throwback 1970s-style uniforms to honor former coach Lefty Driesell, who died Saturday at 92.
