Roy R. Gomes Sr., 79, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 28. Born in Kealakekua, he was a small business owner, rancher and pastor. Sakae Higaki, 94, of Hilo died Dec. 24 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Suisan and a member of Hilo Baptist Church. Private services held.
