PREVIOUSLY:

The Hawaii Police Department advises you that Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) is closed near the 16-mile marker due to a brush fire. No Kona-bound traffic is allowed from the Daniel K. Inouye Highway intersection. No Waimea-bound traffic is allowed from the 15-mile post.

The road is closed to Kaiminani Drive.

The Hawaii Fire Department is on-scene fighting the fire. Expect the closure to last for at least two hours.
