The U.S. Food and Drug Administration confirmed the recalled strawberries were sold at Walmart and Costco locations throughout Hawaii.
This includes the Kirkland Signature’s Frozen Organic Whole Strawberries product, as well as three frozen fruit packages sold at Walmart: Great Value sliced strawberries, Great Value mixed fruit and Great Value antioxidant blend.
The FDA recommends individuals check their freezers and throw out or return the products to the store for a refund.
Symptoms of Hepatitis A can occur between 15 and 50 days after consuming a contaminated product and include fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain and vomiting.
The FDA also recommends individuals contact their health care professional after eating these frozen organic strawberries or if you believe that you have eaten these strawberries in the last two weeks.
