‘Condemn it’
There are ongoing homeless problems with the Hilo Hotel encampment.
I am a business owner on Waianuenue Avenue. The back of our building is used as a urinal by the homeless.
We sympathize with their needs, but the owner of the Hilo Hotel property does nothing to monitor their property, which is a daily place of drug use.
A new business owner of the former Blane’s Drive Inn was broken into immediately after taking possession of the property.
It’s time for the county to intervene. If the owner can’t secure the property, maybe the county should condemn it, but do something, mayor.
Small businesses are struggling.

Not for keiki
I have gay and lesbian friends. I made a donation to an adult friend who had a sex change about 10 years ago. I do not care or judge what adults choose to do with their body or who they love.
However, children should not be subjected to transgender grooming, and society should not be OK with this!
The Honokaa People’s Theater is putting on a drag queen show (Saturday) and opening it up to children! This is not funny or acceptable!
Children are very impressionable and confused right now, as we all are. Parents have a challenging enough job without their keiki questioning their sex, or thinking changing their sex is “cool.”
Being “trans” is a very personal and life-changing choice needing a ton of self-reflection that keiki do not have the maturity to consider.
Some hospitals are performing sex changes on minors, which breaks my heart. When you were a kid, how many times did you change your mind about things you thought you’d want forever?
I am beyond tired of this kind of indoctrination, not to mention the propaganda of judges not knowing what a woman is, and pedophiles now being called, “minor attracted” to make them socially acceptable. This stops when people stand together and choose what kind of world we want to live in.
Drag shows include sexual content, provocative costumes, accepting money, and even some have fondling. The issue is not dressing like a woman, it’s the character that goes along with it, which is not an example for children to follow. Even drag queens themselves have said their shows are not appropriate for children.
Furthermore, movies are rated for a reason. But this show has no rating. If they want to run a drag queen show, do so, but it should be for adults, and children should not be allowed.
I call out to all mama bears to make a stand for your keiki and the world you want to raise them in.
