Fire destroys Pahoa home
A fire Wednesday night that destroyed an unoccupied home for sale on Kahakai Boulevard in Pahoa is under investigation for possible arson.
Five units answered the 7:21 p.m. alarm with the first unit arriving 10 minutes later to find the single-story structure fully involved in fire and smoke.
Traffic was detoured to North and South Puni Mauka Loop as firefighters battled the blaze.
The fire was reported under control at 7:43 p.m. and extinguished at 8:29 p.m.
The estimated loss was $115,000.
