Motorcyclist killed in crash by HVNP ID’d

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park identified the 21-year-old man who died Tuesday morning after his motorcycle collided with a small sport-utility vehicle at the entrance to the park on Highway 11 as Seth White, a Hawaii Island resident.

The 65-year-old woman driving the SUV was the sole occupant of the vehicle and reported no injuries.

Police have determined that speed and inattention are major factors in this incident. They’re asking potential witnesses to contact Officer Jerome Duarte at (808) 961-2329 or Jerome.Duarte@HawaiiCounty.gov.

Those who prefer to anonymity may call Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.
