Kona man arrested in large drug bust

Police arrested a 46-year-old Kealakekua man on following an execution of a narcotics search warrant at a residence.

Christopher Mundon is charged with two counts of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug.

Police seized 345.9 grams, about 3/4 of a pound of cocaine and various items of drug paraphernalia. According to police, the cocaine has a street value of about $50,000.

Officers also seized a 2017 Toyota Tundra and more than $1,400 in cash.

Mundon’s bail was set at $100,000 and his initial appearance was Thursday in Kona District Court.
