Free charging stations
I can well see the interest in making electric charging stations available as this is a clean source of energy for travel (except when the energy is made from fossil fuel), but with the advent of cars having longer range, costing more than the average car and having rebates, it would seem that businesses should not have to front the expenses and burden of a “filling station” and pass this expense onto all of us.
If that is the case and businesses are providing fuel, where is my free gas fill-up?
Furthermore, for whatever reason, the charging stations seem to need to be at the closest to the store rather than farther out in the lot where we “gassers” park, making the rest of us walk in the rain.
It is about time that the charging stations have a pay device, just like for air and water and gas, and this will happen naturally as demand increases, it will create a business and jobs, thereby taxes and revenue.
Please, county, use your valuable time to solve existing problems, like widening Highway 130 that seems to have gone silent but is still an enormous problem, and not create issues that can solve themselves in time without government intervention.

Not fair
The Biden administration recently announced the public could get full coverage of COVID-19 test kits through private health insurance or if not a preferred pharmacy, a $12 reimbursement per kit.
However, this does not seem to work since the pharmacies do not file claims for over-the-counter items with insurance companies even if they are the preferred pharmacy.
So, the insurance companies get away with paying one-half of the price instead of the full cost. How does this really help the people?
Many can’t afford the test kits with inflation rising quickly. Since his “mandate” has no repercussions to the insurance companies or pharmacies, they can “blame” the pharmacies, and the pharmacies can say it’s over-the-counter, we don’t file claims.
People don’t want to stand in line for hours to get tested and would be more likely to test at home. It’s a shame that the people of Hawaii are not getting a fair deal.
