Two new Big Island COVID deaths

Two more people have died on the Big Island from COVID-19.

According to the Department of Health, 10 more people died statewide of COVID today, two of whom were on the Big Island. The statewide death toll is now 1,159, with 163 on the Big Island.

Meanwhile, 2,380 new cases were reported statewide today, 375 of which were on the Big Island. While the statewide case numbers are consistent with those of the last few days, the Big Island numbers are an increase from earlier in the week, when daily new case numbers hovered around 150 for several days.
