More than 500 cases on Big Island today

The Department of Health reports 507 new COVID cases on the Big Island today, and 4,473 statewide.

According to DOH data, there have been 2,402 cases on Hawaii Island since Monday, and 24,999 statewide.

Today the DOH reported two more COVID-related deaths, with 390 currently hospitalized with infections statewide.

The Department of Education reports that there have been 19 new cases at Waiakea High School since Monday, with Hilo High School and Waiakea high and intermediate schools each reporting 11 new cases during the same time frame.

There have been 19 cases at Honokaa High and Intermediate School and 11 at Honokaa Elementary during the past week, 15 cases at Waikoloa School, 14 cases at Kahakai Elementary School and 13 at Keaau High School. All other Big Island schools have had fewer than 10 cases since Monday.
