The Big Island Saturday reported 66 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the island’s tally to 9,803.
The Big Island cases were among 408 new cases of COVID-19 reported across the state Saturday that increased Hawaii’s case total to 77,777.
According to the DOH, 6,369 new cases have been reported in Hawaii in the past 14 days, including 979 on the Big Island. There has been an average of 378 new cases the past seven days statewide with the Big Island averaging 60.3 cases per day.
Hawaii County Saturday had a seven-day test positivity rate of 5.8%, above the state’s 4.6% positivity rate.
On Saturday, 27 people with COVID-19 were remained hospitalized on the Big Island. All of the island’s 24 ICU beds were in use with two overflow beds utilized. Seven of the beds occupied by COVID-positive patients. Four of those seven COVID patients were on ventilators.
No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported Saturday. Of the 747 deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 565 were on Oahu, 83 were in Maui County, 84 were on the Big Island and eight on Kauai. Five deaths were among residents outside the state.
On the Big Island, 124,244 or 75% of eligible residents 12 years and older have completed vaccination. 146,179 or 88% have initiated their doses.
Testing sites
Hawaii County’s Community Testing Program has scheduled clinics at the following times and sites:
• 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at Afook-Chinen Civic Center in Hilo. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines available through KTA.
• 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Hisaoka Gym – Kamehameha Park in North Kohala.
• 8 a.m. to noon Monday at Kamakoa Nui Skate Park in Waikoloa.Pfizer, Moderna and J&J vaccines available by Premier Medical Group.
• 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at Waimea District Park.
