Medical and religious exemptions will be permitted. Requests for exemptions will be reviewed by the HPA on a case-by-case basis and if granted, the parolee must present a negative test result on a weekly basis once released into the community.
“I am confident that this requirement will help reduce the spread of infection within the correctional facilities, and safeguard our businesses, families and the community at large,” said Edmund “Fred” Hyun, HPA chairman.
COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, Ariz.
