Thomas “Tom” Guy Jewett, 82, of Kailua-Kona, died May 27 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in La Crosse, Wis., he was a retired vice president for a commercial insurance company. Service at a later date. No flowers. Memorial donations to Kona Community Hospital Foundation Cancer Center. Survived by wife, Kathleen Jewett of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Teri (Paul) Maassen of Louisiana; son, Guy (Lisa) Jewett of Indiana; brothers, Douglas Jewett of California and Chester (Debbie) Jewett of Wisconsin; grandchildren and step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Nelson Joseph Caravalho, 76, of Kapaau died May 2 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired truck driver for Yamada Transfer and the former Kohala Sugar Co., member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi and Kohala Kupuna Softball League. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Prayer service at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Urn committal service 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Hawi Catholic Cemetery.
