Dean of the University of Hawaii at Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy Carolyn Ma was elected a distinguished practitioner and fellow by the National Academies of Practice.
Ma was welcomed into the National Academies of Practice as a class of 2021 fellow during a virtual awards and induction ceremony in March.
“Since the beginning of my pharmacy career as an oncology pharmacy specialist, interprofessional patient care has proven to be the best approach for quality patient care,” noted Ma. “As part of the UH’s Center for Health Sciences and Social Work, this amazing experience with my fellow deans, directors and health care colleagues supports a strong foundation to expand on this critical work representing Hawaii on a national level.”
Founded in 1981, NAP is an interprofessional, nonprofit organization with membership representing a range of health care professions willing to serve as distinguished advisers to health care policy makers in Congress and elsewhere.
