Pageant winner folds cranes for Rotary Peace Month
Fifth-grader Skylee Hiraki is folding origami peace cranes (tsuru) using recycled paper as a community service project for the East Hawaii Rotary Clubs’ Peace Committee. Skylee is the 2021 Miss Hawaii Elementary America and she will be competing for the title of Miss Elementary America in Little Rock, Ark., in mid-May. She will be producing a short video on how to fold an origami peace crane.
