Billy Gene Adam, 87, of Kurtistown died Oct. 11 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Colorado, he was a retired telephone installer. No services. No koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Eiko Amy Tsuzaki Adam of Kurtistown; children, Russell G. Adam of San Jose, Calif., Robin A. Derek G. Alatan, 65, of Keaau died Aug. 13 at home. Louis “Fred” Deetman, 88, of Hilo died Oct. 13 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in The Hague, Netherlands, he was a retired self-employed accountant and tax preparer, elder and member of the Berean Bible Church, served in the Royal Netherlands Army and a member of The Salvation Army advisory board. Mitsuko Holi, 95, of Hilo died Sept. 30 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, she was retired from the former Sheraton Waiakea Village. Private services held. Darryn Haruto Yamamoto, 67, of Hilo died Oct. 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, he was a retired county highway maintenance employee, worked for HPM Building Supply and a member of United Public Workers Retirees. Services at later date.
