DOH reports 41 new COVID-19 cases in Hawaii, largest one-day total during pandemic

The state Department of Health reports 41 new cases of COVID-19 statewide as of noon today. That is the largest single number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

The statewide total of cases is now 1,071.

Of those new cases, 38 are in the City and County of Honolulu, bringing the Oahu total of cases to 788.

There are two new cases in Kauai County, giving it a total number of 42 cases.

The Big Island has one new reported cases and has a total of 95 cases, with eight of those cases active.

Maui County reported no new cases, and its total remains at 128 cases.

Eighteen cases, overall, have been of Hawaii residents diagnosed while out of state.

So far, 119 of Hawaii’s cases have required hospitalization, and there have been 19 deaths.

A total of 797 individuals have been released from isolation as recovered. according to DOH.
