Susan Lynn Graybeal, 61, of Hilo died June 5. Born in Elyria, Ohio, she loved to explore the outdoors and beaches of Hilo with her dog, Aubrey. Private family services. Survived by brother, Richard Mechtly; sisters, Mary Beth Blankenship, Joan Ryan and Kristine Love. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary.

Itsue Higashi Hino, 100, of Ahualoa died May 22 at home. Born in Honokaa, she was a retired elementary school teacher in Hawaii and Guam. Solomon P. Manuia Jr., 64, of Pahoa died May 31 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. Private family service held. Survived by wife, Barbara Jean Makanani-Manuia of Pahoa; sons, Horace (Miriamatalei) Chee-Manuia and Solomon Chee-Manuia of Honolulu; daughters, Christina (Jonah) Glover and Evangeline Chee-Manuia of Honolulu; brother, Joseph (Elizabeth) Manuia of Honolulu; seven grandchildren. The late Patricia Ann Carvalho is survived by, among others, Wilden (Jack) Tavares of Haiku, Maui. Her name wasn’t submitted for an obituary published Tuesday.

The late Miriam C. Godoy-Pieri was known as “Mimi” and her sister, Margaret (Roy) Nuniez resides in Kurtistown. Incomplete and incorrect information was submitted for an obituary published Tuesday.
