No new COVID-19 cases were reported in Hawaii today for the first time in eight weeks, leaving the total count at 629.
With no new cases today, the total number of fatalities remains unchanged at 17, as does the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations, which remains at 74.
Of the 629 confirmed cases statewide, 74 have occurred on the Big Island. So far, 67 of the those cases have recovered and been released from isolation. Only one Big Island case required hospitalization, and no deaths have occurred on the island.
Statewide, 565, or approximately 90 percent of the total cases, have been released from isolation.
The last time the state went a day without a new coronavirus case was March 13.
