As of this morning, the United States had 236,339 cases — by far more than any other nation.
The U.S. is followed by Italy (115,242), Spain (110,238), Germany (84,600), China (82,432) and France (59,929).
The death toll in the U.S. from the coronavirus was 5,648 as of 11:45 a.m. HST. About 38% of the deaths were in New York state.
Italy has the largest number of COVID-19 deaths, 13,915.
On March 1, there were 98 confirmed cases in the U.S. On March 15, there were about 4,600 cases.
In Hawaii, there were 285 confirmed coronavirus cases as of this morning. On the Big Island, 22 have tested positive, with 13 recovered and cleared by the Department of Health. The remaining nine are quarantined at home and being monitored by the DOH.
More than 208,949 people worldwide have recovered from the virus, including 8,861 in the U.S.
