Liberato Viernes Alonzo, 92, of Keaau died Nov. 20 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Bulag Bantay, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a factory worker for Papaya Pacific Paradise, retired janitor and member of Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 7 p.m. All-night vigil after 9 p.m. at the family home at 9 1/2 Mile Camp in Keaau. Visitation again 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass at 9:30 a.m. Casual attire. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima section. Survived by wife, Maria Alonzo of Keaau; sons, Antonio (Filomena) Alonzo, Benido (Elvie) Alonzo and Pepe (Hazel) Alonzo of Kurtistown, Julio Alonzo of Sacramento, Calif.; daughters, Imelda (Orly) Fernando of Kurtistown, Mila Gabi of Hong Kong, Agustina Gabi, Lani (Paul) Azevedo, Celia (Elmer) Longboy of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Delia (Owen) Nakano of Hilo; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
