Wright On: Po’uha never got his title shot, but he’s struck a balance in Hilo

BART WRIGHT/Tribune-Herald After a respectable career as a boxer in which he went 20-5, Samson Po’uha has been living in Hilo for almost 20 with his wife, Mahealani Kua, and is content working in security.

A full-blooded Tongan, Samson Po’uha was born in Los Angeles on June 2, 1971, but within a week he moved to Utah with his Mormon family. It was there the youngster learned to become a man of God, in the image of his father.
