Kittens, puppies and forever friends

Fox terrier and chihuahua mix Aku, 11, was another dog available for adoption Saturday during the Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary adoption event. Aku loves to cuddle and go for walks. He would be a great match for a dog-loving kupuna.

Natasha Hughes holds a kitten while talking Saturday about the wrong and correct ways to feed puppies and kittens. Hughes presented the information during a bottle-feeding kittens and puppies class at 1438 Kilauea Avenue in Hilo. The class helped to ready participants to be volunteer foster parents for baby animals through Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary. Contact the sanctuary at 982-5110 for future classes.
