U.S. Air Force Airmen Tevan K. Nozaki-Baring, Lowen M. Lapera and 1st Class Airman Carson Pettijohn graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.
U.S. Air Force Airmen Tevan K. Nozaki-Baring, Lowen M. Lapera and 1st Class Airman Carson Pettijohn graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.
While they did not graduate at the same time, all three completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Nozaki-Baring is a 2018 graduate of Youth Challenge Academy in Hilo.
Lapera is the husband of Ayeesha Lapera of Hilo and a 2009 graduate of Pahoa High School.
Pettijohn is a 2015 graduate of the National Guard Youth Academy in Hilo.
