Magnitude-4.4 quake felt in Hilo, no tsunami generated

An earthquake felt in Hilo at 2:24 p.m. today was not strong enough to generate a tsunami, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The earthquake with a preliminary measurement of magnitude-4.4 was centered on the south flank of Kilauea.
