Errol Makanani Ishimine, 72, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 31 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired Hawaii Police Department lieutenant, member of county Parks and Recreation Retired Seniors Volunteer Program and Kona Karaoke Club, musician, golfer and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Sacred Heart Church in Hawi. Mass at 10 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Lei welcome. Condolences to Wynona Palmer, P.O. Box 27, Kealakekua, HI 96750. Survived by companion, Wynona Palmer of Captain Cook; sons, Errol Kalai Ishimine and Scott Ishimine of North Kohala, Larry Keohokapu Ishimine of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Marlene (Charles) Thurman of Florida and Shirlene (Jerry Brown) Conklin of California; stepsister, Gabrielle Makuakane of Honolulu; stepbrothers, Jeffrey Makuakane of Hilo and Timothy Makuakane of South Carolina; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
