Tre Evans-Dumaran, Kai Garson-Shumway, Amelia Warnock and Brooke Calderon were the 2016 Wayne “Big Dog” Joseph Scholarship winners.

The recent high school graduates shared $4,000 in stipends in the 11th anniversary of the scholarship.

To be eligible, each athlete needed to be planning on attending college and exemplify excellence in running, academics, volunteerism, and overall citizenship. Each had a GPA higher than 3.5.

Garson-Shumway and Warnock attended Hilo High, Calderon went to Waiakea and Evans-Dumaran is a Kamehameha graduate.
