HONOLULU (AP) — The state Department of Health is warning people to stay out of Palolo Stream, Ala Wai Canal, Magic Island and nearby Honolulu surf spots after a sewage spill.
The city’s Department of Environmental Services said Tuesday a clogged sewer pipe sent untreated sewage out of a manhole and into Palolo Stream.
Tricycle parts, clothes, rocks and sticks clogged the pipe.
Officials were investigating how much sewage spilled into the stream.
