Recycle Hawaii will hold its 20th annual general membership meeting Saturday, July 21, at the West Hawaii Civic Center at 75-5044 Ane Keohokalole Hwy. in Kailua-Kona.
The meeting will get under way at 10:30 a.m. in the Liquor Commission conference room, starting Recycle Hawaii members will be voting to fill several board of director positions to serve for either a one- or two-year term. A board of directors meeting will follow a potluck lunch after the general membership meeting. The public is invited to attend.
Guest speaker National Park Ranger Ida Hanohano will give a presentation on the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail, stressing the importance of a strong connection of the land and people with the cooperation of many hands — the model of self-sufficiency that existed in Hawaii before western contact.
“Recycle Hawaii is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization serving Hawaii for more than 20 years with a mission to promote resource awareness and recycling enterprises in Hawaii,” said Executive Director Paul Buklarewicz. “To achieve this, we educate the community about sound resource management and recycling opportunities for a more environmentally sustainable future.”
