The Big Island Interscholastic Federation recently released its All-League teams from the 2025-26 girls soccer season.
Hilo High highlighted the Division I team, as senior Aneala Sibayan was named DI Player of the Year. The midfielder was a critical piece in the Vik Queens’ BIIF Championship season, leading the team with 11 goals — including two in the state tournament. Sibayan helped lead Hilo to a 7-5 overall record and 7-3 in BIIF play.
Sibayan’s teammates, freshman midfielder Wainohia Wise and senior midfielder Kyler Daog, also made the team. The Vik Queens out-scored their opponents 42-22 this season.
Hilo lost to Punahou in the state quarterfinals, and was redirected to the consolation bracket.
Waiakea, which finished as BIIF DI runner-ups, had five Lady Warriors named to the team — midfielders Daye Yanazaki and Heston McNoughton, forwards Elina Salai and Taliah Nelson and back Lehua De Soto-Osborne.
Waiakea finished the year 7-3-1 overall, posting an impressive 42-8 scoring differential. The Lady Warriors, like the Vik Queens, also represented the Big Island in the DI state tournament late last month — falling 3-2 to Mililani in the opening round.
Konawaena rounded out the remainder of the DI list, as midfielder Nateila Rivera, back Ava Shoosmith and goalie Kalei Blas were named to the team. The Lady Wildcats finished the year 4-4-1 with a 20-10 scoring differential.
Kamehameha-Hawaii and Hawaii Preparatory Academy highlighted the DII team, as Kahalia Huddleston of the Lady Warriors was named DII Player of the Year. The sophomore star defender was a key cog in KSH’s system that allowed just four goals all season, including nine shutouts.
Huddleston’s teammates — forwards Inalei Haunga and Rhacelyn Respicio, midfielder Madisyn Meyers and goalie Lahela Cootey were also recognized. The senior Meyers led the team in goals with eight, while Respicio and Haunga each scored four.
The Lady Warriors clinched another BIIF DII title in 2025-26, along with a state semifinals appearance — falling 2-0 to Island School.
KSH finished the season off by shutting out Kauai 4-0 in the third-place match, officially clinching bronze in Division II.
Ka Makani, which finished 10-4-0 overall with a second-place finish in the BIIF, was also highlighted on the team with six selections. HPA out-scored opponents 40-10 across the season.
The red and white beat Roosevelt 4-0 in the state opening round, but fell to Kauai 2-1 in the quarterfinals — diverting them to the consolation bracket.
Ka Makani then shut out Radford 4-0 and Kailua 3-0 to clinch fifth overall in the state. Key players named to the All-BIIF team were forwards Vaiana Lussiaa and Zaylee Moses, midfielders Madie Buczyna and Tae Detwiler and backs Kekai Lansdale and Lehia Akau.
Lussiaa, a freshman phenom, was critical for HPA this season — leading the team with 14 goals. She scored four goals in the BIIF semifinals against Honoka‘a and three overall in the state tournament.
Buczyna and Tetwiler were also key contributors, combining for 19 goals.
The Lady Dragons rounded out the rest of the DII team with two selections — midfielder Samantha Cabrera and back Sophie Kirby. Honoka‘a finished the season with a 2-6-0 record, falling in the conference semifinals.
