American patriots must
stop President Trump
The MAGA conservative machine in the House of Representatives just voted to defund PBS. This is a blatant move to silence truth and honest reporting in America.
We have been told that PBS is nothing more than a propaganda organ for the liberal and woke left in America. That is a lie. They dig deep into what is happening at every level of government and report it to the public. They shine a light on all the lies and corruption that is currently happening and the effect it is having on our people and our government.
To those who truly wish to make America great again, shutting down PBS is not the way to do it. The way to make America great again is to throw light on all the corruption and lies.
Our nation is definitely headed down a dark path to total control by one person: Donald Trump. People who are not loyal to Trump, he punishes.
PBS is not loyal to Trump. PBS is loyal to the truth and our Constitution. That is entirely unacceptable to Trump and all his cronies. My way or the highway!
Trump swore to defend the Constitution. He is doing all he can to circumvent it at every opportunity. He wants to be the law of the land by replacing the Constitution with his will. Trump should be impeached and removed from office for breaking his sworn oath to defend the Constitution. He should be imprisoned for his felony crimes against persons and legitimate institutions.
How many veterans are watching all the rights and freedoms they fought for, and many died for, be abridged and infringed upon? Trump has made America diminished and hated around the world.
This must stop. True American patriots must stop this debasement of our nation and our rights.
Yes, there is a very good chance that standing up for one’s rights and Constitution will end a promising career or cause agencies of government to harass or imprison those who stand up to Trump and his steamroller Heritage Foundation agenda.
Trump will not stop his wrecking ball policies to remake America in his image. He will not voluntarily return power to we the people. The only legal way to stop Trump’s march to total control (as in dictatorship) is to remove him from office. St. Helena comes to mind (where Napoleon was banished to).
Trump is not our nation’s savior. His represents our fall from grace. Enough already!
For those who think a president is obsolete, try living under a monarch or maximum leader-for-life.

Thoughts on the Hilo
golf course fence debate
I agree with Jim and Nancy Locke’s arguments and suggestions (regarding the Hilo Municipal Golf Course fence, May 30).
Although I no longer live in Hilo, I grew up on Naniakea Street. Being awakened by lawnmowers before the crack of dawn isn’t any fun, but it’s a small price to pay for having a beautiful view during the daylight hours.
I have such wonderful childhood memories living next to the golf course. Yes, we walked and played in the golf course after closing, but we were taught to be respectful and careful when on the property.
When I visit my childhood home today, I can see that the majority using the course after hours treat the course with the same respect.
I hope the Lockes’ suggestions will be given serious consideration.
While I was in Hilo recently, I also noticed some of the golf course cart paths were in terrible shape. And golfers would very much appreciate good quality greens.
I remember decades ago when the EMTs came through our yard to transport a golfer who was hit in the face by an errant ball.
I remember golfers occasionally
asking if they can pick lychee or tangerines from our trees along the perimeter.
The course has been a good neighbor to us, and likewise, we have been a good neighbor to the course.
