The Cubs division (5-6-7) of the Leeward Steelers (gold) and Kona Marlins (green) during Sunday's first-ever Big Island Pop Warner Football Conference Flag Football Championships at Old Kona Airport. In this division, the Kona Marlins beat the Leeward Steelers 12-6 in triple overtime in the semifinal match, advancing to play Panaewa Ali‘i Gold in the title game. Panaewa won 13-12 to clinch the divisional championship. Three other divisional championships were played, and BIPWFC HLA Football Commissioner/Coordinator Geri Johnston was ecstatic with how the day went, saying, "I'm so proud of all of the associations who participated this season!
