Police renew request for info on missing man
Police are renewing their request for the public’s assistance in finding a 47-year-old man reported missing in August 2020.
Derek Lee Kalani Aiona is described as 5-foot-8-inches tall, 220 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. =He’s believed to reside in the Puna District; however, he has no known permanent address.
Police say they’ve interviewed witnesses who report they’ve recently been in contact with Aiona. Reports are that Aiona is well but avoiding police contact. According to police, Aiona is also wanted on a traffic warrant issued in December 2020.
