The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Kilauea Ave. hosted a blood drive for the Blood Bank of Hawaii on Tuesday, Wednesday and today.
The series of blood drives on the Big Island will help prepare for disasters nationwide.
The blood bank will hold another series in West Hawaii at the LDS church in Kailua-Kona on Oct. 18, 19 and 20.
The Kona blood drive will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the first day, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. the second, and from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. the third.
Gregory Lum Ho came in to donate his blood for the 94th time in his life on Wednesday. After being inspired to donate by his father, Lum Ho plans to donate 100 times in his life. “I want to do this, because you don’t even know how many people you can save,” Lum Ho said. “Getting to 100 is just a cool goal for me.”
