Four new cases of COVID-19 were reported today on the Big Island, according to Hawaii County Civil Defense.
As of today, two individuals are hospitalized and a total of 49 COVID-related deaths have been reported on the Big Island.
According to the state Department of Health’s weekly cluster report, which was released on Friday, no COVID-19 clusters were under investigation on the Big Island within the last two weeks.
Compliance with mask wearing mandates also has increased on the Big Island over the past month.
Data provided by the DOH shows that during the week of Nov. 15, 628 people, or 90% of those observed, were wearing masks correctly, while 30, or 4%, were wearing masks incorrectly, and and 40, or 6%, were not wearing a mask.
A month earlier, during the week of Oct. 11, 501 people, or 75% of those observed were correctly wearing masks, 62 individuals, or 9%, were wearing masks incorrectly and 107 people, or 16%, were not wearing a mask.
Free drive-through COVID-19 testing will continue to be provided through the week at a number of sites around the county, including:
• 2-6 p.m. Wednesday at Konawaena High School in Kealakekua;
• 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo . Please enter from the Kuawa Street entrance;
• 8 a.m.-noon Thursday at Waimea District Park in Waimea;
• 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo;
• 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Keaau High School in Keaau; and
• 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the West Hawaii Civic Center in Kailua-Kona.
Walk-up testing will be available 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at Kahuku Park in Ocean View.
