A 45-year-old pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run collision Jan. 22 on Highway 137, 1/10 mile east of the Pahoa-Kapalana Road intersection in Kalapana has been identified.
According to police, the victim is Benito Charles Segura III of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
A negligent homicide investigation is open. Potential witnesses and those who have information relative to the identity of the driver is asked to call the Hilo Traffic Enforcement Unit at 961-2339 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
