Richard Basque, 84, of Hilo died Sept. 3 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired truck driver for the former Keaau Sugar, Hilo Coast Processing, Hamakua Sugar, and Ka‘u Sugar companies and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Visitation 9-11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 14) at House Hilo Assembly of God Church, 2282 Kanoelehua Ave. Celebration of life will at 11 a.m. Inurnment service noon Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.
