This fall, Prince Dance Institute is offering more than 30 performing arts classes at Kahilu Theatre in Waimea. Enrollment for classes is now open.
The fall semester begins Tuesday, Sept. 3, and runs weekly through Thursday, Dec. 19.
Represented in the class offerings are the disciplines of dance, theatre, music and acrobatics — with classes available for all ages and skill levels. Performance opportunities are available for interested students.
“This year, we are pleased to offer a large range of performing arts classes for all levels — from pre-glee and acting (level 1) to adult hip hop, and advanced levels of ballet and contemporary classes,” said Angel Prince, the dance institute’s artistic director.
“After the success of our performance of ‘Perspektives’ last year, and the growing student body, we have decided to add a winter performance in addition to our long-standing spring performance,” Prince added. “For our younger and lower level students, this will be a special showcase geared just for them, giving them a chance to perform without the time commitment and stress levels of our story driven spring show.”
The winter recital is at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, on the Kahilu Theatre’s main stage.
Classes at Kahilu Theatre are conducted on the main stage and in the Mike Luce Studio. They are scheduled between 2:30 and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Entry is through the loading dock door.
Registration is now open, with scholarships available for qualifying students. The scholarship application deadline is Aug. 30.
