A 43-year-old Hilo woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in an early Tuesday morning shooting in Keaukaha is free.
Chanell Evangelista-Kaleiwahea was released from custody Wednesday pending further investigation, police said.
A 37-year-old man was taken to Hilo Medical Center in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the chest. His condition has since improved to stable.
Police have not released his identity.
