New Filipino nonprofit organization launches
The Big Island Filipino Community Council Foundation has been launched.
The new nonprofit registered in July with the state of Hawaii.

According to the organizers, the BIFCC Foundation is the only recognized affiliate of the United Filipino Council of Hawaii Foundation on the Big Island, as a result of a resolution that was unanimously approved by the delegates in August during the annual UFCHF convention on Kauai.
The foundation’s mission is to preserve the rich legacy of Filipino culture and empower the next generation of Filipinos in Hawaii, and to perpetuate a vibrant understanding of Filipino heritage.
The foundation “is committed to empowering Filipino youth by providing scholarships and educational support to deserving high school graduates, helping them pursue higher education, and realize their full potential.”
It also aims to “inspire future leaders who carry forward the richness of Filipino identity with purpose and pride — a vital pathway to success for the youth.”
