Yoshiki Murakami, 87, of Papaaloa died Aug. 23 at home. Born in Paauilo, was a retired auto mechanic for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., shuttle driver, county facilities maintenance, service worker and fire equipment mechanic, auto mechanic, sheet metal worker, welder, truck driver, service station operator, and subsequently worked as a Shuttle Driver and then for County of Hawaii as Facilities Maintenance, Service Worker and Fire Equipment Mechanic, U.S. Army veteran, Honokaa High School 1955 graduate and jack-of-all trades. Teonila “Nellie” Arde Parel, 76, of Paauilo died Aug. 22. Born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a registered nurse, member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and loved tending to her garden, baking for loved ones, and cherishing time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation Saturday, Sept. 27, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Survived by husband, Thomas Parel Sr. of Paauilo; children, Abigail A. (Patrick Shanahan) Parel, Aileen A.
