Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation said in a statement Thursday that Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area will be closed from 4:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 25, for vector control operations. As a result, public restrooms and amenities at the park will not be available during this timeframe.
