Police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding a 33-year-old Kona man they say should be considered armed and dangerous for questioning in connection with an attempted murder investigation.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding a 33-year-old Kona man they say should be considered armed and dangerous for questioning in connection with an attempted murder investigation.
Drosstain Pua, who also goes by the name “Hano,” is described as 5-feet-10-inches tall, 175 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He’s known to frequent South Kona and Ocean View.
A second, unidentified suspect police are seeking is described as a local male in his in his 40s with a thin build and light complexion, 5-feet-8-inches tall, unknown weight, with brown eyes and brown hair.
Police say the incident under investigation happened shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday morning in Ocean View.
Officers responded to a home on Bamboo Lane after a 37-year-old man reported two men carrying firearms forcibly entered his residence.
The victim told police the men assaulted him and fired a weapon in his direction.
The victim was treated at the scene by Hawaii Fire Department paramedics. No one else was injured during this incident.
Police strongly advise the public not to make contact with Pua, but to call the department’s nonemergency number at 935-3311 with his location, or to make an anonymous tip at Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
Police also advise the public that harboring or concealing a wanted person could result in criminal charges.
